Valley of the Sun - Part Deux

Now that we are back up in the Frozen Tundra we are reminiscing about our trip to the Valley of the Sun.

To say it was a shot in the arm would be an understatement. We really needed a warm up and time away from the house to not have to worry about the day to day grind.

Olivia cried as we drove back home, dramatically telling us that she didn't want to see snow and that all she wanted to see was dirt, grass and flowers. I'm right their with her.

So here are some pics from the trip.

Thank You Phoenix for being so close and so sunny. Seeing the flowers was pure therapy for all of us.

Look at these little beauties. Little Red is a full fledged little girl. The baby is gone (although she will always, always be my first little baby love) and Abby is growing out of babyhood faster than I expected too. They are pure joy to me.

We were at Sunset Point Rest Area and it was all of 55 degrees but it felt like a miracle to us. It was sooooo warm and to not have to see the white stuff! Lovely.

The girls went crazy running around, Olivia found a clump of yellow wild flowers and you would have thought it was an alien species from another planet. She was jazzed to see flowers as was her Mama.

Now this place is AWESOME. It should be mandatory for snowy cities to have a place like this. This is the Phoenix Children's Museum. Totally Interactive, Totally Amazing. The girls had a blast! Olivia was in love with the Noodle Forest and Abby loved the pretend shopping and the pretend ice cream shop. It was really an amazing place. Then at door when leaving they had huge bins full of Adult, Kid and Baby toothbrushes, all sorts of floss and toothpaste and bags that said please help yourself....and so of course we did. If you come to our house and forget your toothbrush (Chelsea!) We have all the dental paraphernalia you need.

Our last dinner in Scottsdale was at our beloved Pasta Pomodoro. We love the Bruschetta here and it's way kid friendly complete with free ice cream with the kids meal. It was a nice dinner. We were sad to be heading up the hill but we will be back for another dry out and warm up very soon.
