Blessings in Disguise.

Well this has been a rocky last couple of years to say the least.
Oh this danged economy!
And then came an opportunity of the mixed blessing variety.
Work. Lots of it. For the Hubs. 9 month Contract, great pay, too good to be true.
The catch...
The Hubs would be gone for 9 months across the country, living in a hotel room. Ick.
Not ideal for a family but we are willing to make these sacrifices to keep our cute, little log cabin roof over our heads and food on the table.
And so after months of waiting for the answer, waiting, waiting, unfortunately it was too good to be true. This is life. These things happen.
A great opportunity gone in a blink of an eye.
So the Hubs and I, although we are feeling pinched and of course disappointed we always look to each other to find the bright side.

The bright side is...
-I get to wake up in the morning to the sound of my Hubs grinding our fresh morning brew for me.
-I don't have to break my children's heart and tell them that Daddy is going to be gone for 9 months.

-The sounds of my two girls giggling wildly at their favorite playmate will be music to my ears.

-All of those house projects that are half finished...well it's time to finish.

-Maybe a date night is in our near future? (I pray!)

-When one door closes another will open and we know opportunities are out there and coming and we need to just be ready to answer the doorbell.

We will be OK and we will find a way because we are strong people who believe that sometimes what seems like a negative on the outside is truly a blessing in disguise.

Always look on the Bright Side Of Life....

GREAT post!!!! It's hard to be positive in situations like these, but being postitive is the only way you get through them! We're still having a tough time here and hoping that this roof will remain over our heads!

Sooz...while I know it may seem like a big bummer right now, you've got the right attitude. Seriously, take it as a true blessing...coming from someone who's lived through a distance situation. It takes a toll on every aspect of your life, relationship, sense of self, kids - just everything and literally tests you everyday. Not something I would wish on anyone. Enjoy the special times with your family! Miss you girl!

definitely blessing in disguise... i always tend to think morbid thoughts like "what if this not working out just prevented me from being in a major accident, or getting robbed, or dying, etc...." you get the picture. i know not so cheery, but you NEVER know what life has in store! you've got good karma girl, things will work out :)

They say things happen for a reason. Although when you are going through some of these things it is hard to think that way. I believe it was a blessing in disguise. Enjoy this time with your beautiful family!
